I have this PC that I just recently reinstalled everything on.
Only problem is that the burner doesn't have any name on it or
anything that would point me to where I could get the driver.
The only thing written on it is "Compact disc recordable
rewritable". So how can I ID this burner to find its driver? Is
there an application that will let me do this?

You don't need an external driver to let your computer read data from a CDR/DVDR unit;
support is built in to Windows. As far as burning is concerned, whatever software you
use will provide the means to do this (Roxio, Nero, et cetera).

In any case, you can use Everest to find out who made your unit (along with a lot of
other information regarding your computer):

You don't install a driver for a burner.

You might install an authoring program to burn with, like
EasyCD, or Nero, or if a DVD drive, the DVD viewer software
too.

If you list the markings on the (top?) label we may be able
to ID it.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

yes, when you start up your machine and before windoz appears you should see
a list containing info on your cpu, ram, hard drives and CDROM RW or DVD
drives fitted.
