The subject says it all. Are there any companies out there that still
make keyboards like they used to in the old days? I'm looking for
something new, but along the lines of the old classics from IBM,
somewhat heavy, solidly built with nice responsiveness and key click.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,

From what I've read, the Model M is usually considered the classic IBM
keyboard.

Indeed the Customizer does not use an 83 key XT or 84 key AT
layout - I doubt anyone would want to return to those, for usability
reasons at least.

Now you seem to be talking about the 122 key Model M for IBM terminals?

Well,
I went with this one:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://store.yahoo.com/pckeyboards/customizer.html" target="_blank">http://store.yahoo.com/pckeyboards/customizer.html</a>
i'm very happy with the unit. It has the weighty, solid, quality feel
that I was looking for and the clicky bubble springs. Through the
years, I had gotten used to the layout of newer keyboards, having the
windows key, etc. In my mind, this keyboard offers the best of both
worlds-- Quality comparable to the old classics while preserving todays
keyboard layout.
