Looking for a digital camera up to £250

Print machines are all over the USA.
Much more economical than printing your own.

The best camera made is the Olympus Stylus 400 or 300.

It depends on how small they feel comfortable with but one camera that is
small and looks nice is the Pentax Optio S. It's slightly bigger than a
credit card, 3.2 Megapixels, has 3x optical zoom and looks very stylish.

We bought one about two weeks ago from a trader on Ebay.co.uk with the
wonderful screen name of "Shutterblood" (who is an excellent trader based in
Swansea) and it cost £185 including a 128Mb SD memory card. I've just looked
on Ebay before posting this but he's only got an S4 on at the moment which
is exactly the same as ours but has a 4 Megapixel sensor rather than 3.2.

In the two weeks we've had it I've taken about 250 shots just trying it out
and I'm well impressed, but don't just take my word for it, have a look at
the reviews here <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/pentaxoptios/" target="_blank">http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/pentaxoptios/</a> and here

then drill down to the Pentax).

Regarding printers, my understanding is (probably wrong and someone may well
refute this) that current inkjet printers aren't really up to the job.
Colours tend to fade after about a year and will run if any water is
accidentally spilled or dripped on them. Dye sublimation printers seem to be
better but I've so far (remember I've only had a digital camera for 2 weeks)
avoided the home print route, preferring to upload my photos to an online
service and get prints back through the post. <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.colourmailer.co.uk" target="_blank">www.colourmailer.co.uk</a> and
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.bonusprint.co.uk" target="_blank">www.bonusprint.co.uk</a> are two that spring to mind.

I should also have said that if you're not comfortable about buying a camera
from someone on Ebay (although, like I said previously, Shutterblood is an
excellent trader) then look at somewhere like <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.kelkoo.co.uk" target="_blank">www.kelkoo.co.uk</a> which will
search for prices from "real" shops.

At the end, he can see the pictures on the TV. Quality is really not

I have been watching a few model on eBay over the last few weeks and most of
them sell over the mail order/online dealers prices. People get over excited
bidding and pay too much and then ridiculous shipping from some.

They haven't bought one yet. After doing a lot of reading I recommended the
canon A80. But my mother says the Fuji S5000 looks nicer, so she'd prefer

Heehee, it's all good fun isn't it? My head was spinning with info before I
decided on the Pentax Optio S. Trouble was, I don't know anything about
photography and all the reviews and all the info just confused the hell out
of me.
