I am looking to put together a system that will be soley used to play video
and tv streamed from a central media server. If anyone has suggestions on
a silent case, possibly fanless, small formfactor preferred, also any links
to setting up a media server. I would like to know what the minimum is I
would need in my viewing pcs to watch stream video, audio and tv from my
main computer.

Any help would be much appreciated

I just bought a shuttle XPC system for my media PC-they are pretty quiet and
really small. Get an agp video card with composite out and DVI out, many
HDTVs have DVI input and if you are old school like me you still use
composite but plan on a HDTV in the next year or two. The server is a
regular desktop PC with a 500GB raid 5 array, I think that is the way to go.
By the way, they call these things HTPC (home theatre PC), do a search.
