Hello

Just lately my 48x mtrp cd-rom has started making a loud scraping
noise on stopping. This happens even if I use win explorer and it
checks all the drives.

I don't use the cd-rom a lot (just have an encarta atlas in it to look
up where persons I chat to say they are from.

It's been in this pc since Dec 1999

Has anyone in the ng experienced this and how do I fix it?

OS Win89SE
Pentium III 500
