Today i have a 2,8 ghz celeron 533 mhz fsb and 256 cache and 1gb 400
mhz ram.

Will my computer run better with a 3,0 p4 with 512 cache and 800 mhz
fsb.

Thanks

Sure it will. Will you notice it? Depends on the apps. No
difference in typing Wink very little, if any, in Internet browsing and
email reading. If you do things like video encoding and/or gaming,
the difference may be significant.
Does the upgrade make sence? Depends... If you already have the CPU
collecting the dust, or getting it for free or next to that, go for
it. If you need to spend significant cash ($175 on pricewatch as of
now), think twice. The system is already obsolete, and will remain
such even if you stick P4 Extreme in it. Upgrading it means throwing
good money after the bad. You might be better off saving some more
money and buying a modern system.

Yes it will run faster for sure, though whether or not you'll notice
is another question. Generally speaking a P4 3.0GHz, 800MT/s bus
speed and 512KB cache chip will run around 15-25% faster than a
Celeron D 2.8GHz, 533MT/s bus speed 256KB cache chip, depending on the
application. People rarely notice anything under 20%, so you're
probably pretty borderline there.

You can compare these two chips on a variety of benchmarks at the
following link, should give you a rough idea of how much of a speed-up
you'll see:

Personally I wouldn't bother with it unless the P4 was very cheap
($20-$30?) or free. Otherwise you're probably better off saving up
until you can get a more substantial upgrade.
