what is you guys opinion of the best sub-compact camera on the market today?
What is a good price for this
Is a better option a compact which has more features (and possibly better
lens etc) - i want a sub compact size but also want decent pics as well

We have the Olypmus Stylus 400 and 300.
Perfect fit for shirt pocket or purse.
4mp and excellent color.
I saw an Olympus stylus 410 for $359.00
Try www.dealtime.com
Or www.buydig.com

I've seen great pictures taken on the Elphs, especially the most recent one.

I have an S-400 Elph and like it very much. I had an S-100 before that.
I believe the S-500 is out now.... or soon will be.... so you should be
able to get a good deal on an S-400.
If you plan on making a lot of indoor photos, or other low-light photos,
I'd recommend going ahead and get a G-3 or G-5, or something with a
hot shoe for an external flash. I have a G-5 and use it more than I do the
S-400. The G-5 has a lot of manual controls but is also a very good
"point and shoot" mode too.

I have the S400 and it is a very good camera. However, I also have the S50
and it is a much better all around camera. It has all the manual adjustmets
that the 400 does not and it is also one of the best low light cameras
around. Currently, you can get the S50 for a little less that the S400 and
it's really not much bigger.
