I can't access the internet.
I'm trying to install XP with my new GA-8KNXP Ultra board. The Intel Pro
1000 Local Connection is providing no data for Address Type, IP Address,
Subnet Mask, Default Gateway. My cablemodem, switch, and hub are doing fine
with my current Pentium 3 machine, which the new machine is hooked into.
I'm getting lights at both ends of the network cable at the connectors. The
device manager says (both) network cards are installed without problem.
with the new installation. When I run ipconfig (exe) alone and with renew I
get no data back. When I ping the local machine 127.0.0.1 I get valid
replies. I basically get the same result with a PCI NIC installed in the
new machine. I'm running out of ideas, but do believe there is someing
wrong with the XP TCP/IP installation, including something I may not have
done right.
What have I forgotten or needs to be check?

Roger .. I am confused.
It not clear what you want to do.
It appears that you do not have a router to service your new DHCP.
It appears that you do not have a second IP address from your ISP that would
let you specify the IP.
I can not see how you planned to get on line.
Since you started with one box and one modem why do you have Hub and a
switch?
