Hi,

I need to connect my old (Win98)and new(WinXP) desktops to share
files.
What kind of cable do I need to use with the "Direct Cable Connection"
program on my Win 98. I used simple Serial cable betwen the two, but
its not working. On the XP side its giving me error#777 (whatever that
is) and on Win98 side it keeps listening. Am I using a right cable or
what.
TIA

you will need a cross over cable, and naturally a couple of network
cards...run network wizard on your xp machine.it you can also make up a disk
for your 98 machine on xp then put it into your 98 machine and it will do
the installation for you that's about it ..hope that helps....
