I'm currently looking at upgrading my GF3Ti200 to a 9800 pro (damn
half life
With regards to the s-video out, what is the quality like, and does
the driver come with adjustments, or will I need to use something like
TVtool? I use the tv output quite a lot so this is an important
consideration.
It has been suggested on here that the Sapphire cards are to be
avoided, why is this? On ebay.co.uk there are quite a few Sapphire's,
are people really dumping them?
TIA

TVout on any Ati card is streaks ahead of TVout on any Nvidia card. You
will not be disappointed with it. You don't need TVtool (in fact, it
doesn't work with Ati cards)<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: A couple of 9800 questions |

Can the size and (or) position of the tv-out be adjusted?

Yes, including overscan. But I don't like the control center for tvout
(havent tried the latest though), I like the old control panel, you can get
the latest drivers with that. And as for sapphire, they launched a crippled
128 bit bus width model, make sure you get a 256bit bus (128mb ram is ok).
And the tvout from ATI is very nice.
cheers,
Mike
