Hi there,

I have a noisy AMD based machine that I would like to swap out for a shuttle
system. The one that seems good to me is the :-

Shuttle SN45G SktA Mini Aluminium Barebone system c/w nForce2 DDR400 m/b
+LAN +6 ch.snd [30x20x19cm] [No onboard video]

I will buy an XP2500 (barton core) chip for it. I have a 512mb DDR stick,
but don't know what speed it runs at, do you know how i can find out...its
probably 12 months old now and am not sure if it will be compatible

I also have an nvidia 400MMX video card to use for the time being, can you
recommend a cool running, fast video card for gaming please.

id like to keep the pc as quiet as possible and don't mind buying quiet
fans, as the pc will be in a room next to my kids bedroom.

any advice, tips are welcomed.

thank you.

Andy Holmes

For cooling, I have used the Speeze fan to replace the factory fan,
cools great and is very quiet. Keeps my Tbird 1.3 and Thoroughbred2000
XP running high 40s to low 50s under load. I am super happy with the
noise level and performance.

CHeckout Model# SF263B1M3, and a bit more airflow and noise,
#5R238B1H3
Ridiculous price, $7 plus shipping from Newegg.

Good heatsink & fans, don't judge them by the price! I'm not sure they
will fit a Barton, I have never owned a Barton cord.

Be sure to read the reviews by owners.
