Post subject: What's Up Soyo
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>soyo (more info?)

With all the talk about PC Chips taking over Soyo and in turn Soyo's
denial of this. I have wondered whats going on there lately, I find
the lack of Intel 915 and 925 based motherboards interesting. After
building many systems using Soyo boards with 845, 865 and 875 chipsets
whats the deal Soyo? It looks like there leaving the future behind
them. I have had great responce from my customers that like there Soyo
based systems. But now with the demand for faster systems I have no
Soyo motherboard to offer. So it's beginning to cause a product shift
to Asus and Abit around here. Of course I've always built systems to
what the consumer wanted and using Abit, Asus and Gigabyte boards is
nothing new. But it looks like Soyo is loosing out on a big share of
the market.

Soyo KT400 and RAM - I am looking to purchase the Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra board. I plan on putting in an Athlon XP 2400+ CPU in there with 512 MB PC2100 (266) DDR RAM. Since the max FSB of the 2400+ CPU is 266, this would be acceptable, correct? Would there be any advantage...

I Will Not Buy Soyo Board - After all that I've read here, I've decided not to purchase a SOYO board for my new gaming PC. I'm going to look for something else. I'm scared of all the problems I'm hearing about.
