Press Delete repeatedly while booting up. Advanced>Onboard device config
You can disable the controller here. Press F10 then Enter to save
changes. You probably have two controllers listed. Write down exactly
what you've done in the event you choose the wrong one. >> Stay informed about: How to disable RAID bootup check in A8N SLI Deluxe BIOS? |

I disagree. This motherboard has two controllers with four SATA ports
each, for a total of eight. If both are connected to the Nvidia
controller disabling the Silicon Image 3114 should do the trick. If it
doesn't, he can try disabling the Nvidia controller and leaving the 3114
enabled. >> Stay informed about: How to disable RAID bootup check in A8N SLI Deluxe BIOS? |

If a sata drive is connected to a sata controler & you disable that
controler you will have no hd
If however you disable the raid option that would be a different matter.

Cary,
Mike has 2 SATA drives.
Mike: check the manaul on this subect, possibly this cannot be turned
of, just because you have 2 SATA drives connected.

I want to disable the raid option. It keeps scanning for raid on every
bootup and doubles my bootup time in the process.
But there is no "scan for raid at bootup" option anywhere. This is under
another name. What is the name of the option I need to turn off, and where
is it? :-S >> Stay informed about: How to disable RAID bootup check in A8N SLI Deluxe BIOS? |

Check in the bios for an 'SATA' function, I think it sais RAID instead
of ATA (or IDE).
With my motherboard (M2V) I can choose between RAID and ATA (or IDE)
function on the SATA ports..
When I set it to ATA (or IDE), it treats the SATA ports as a 'simple'
IDE drive, without the RAID search.
I had a look at the manual of your motherboard. Take a look at page
4-26.
There you can turn off the raid for SATA ports (in the bios: Advanced
-> onboard devices -> NVRaid)
Good luck.
For all the others: RTFM!

Actually, the key word to look for was "Silicon".
Turned that sumbitch off and the SATA drives continue to work well, while
the RAID detecting is being bypassed at bootup. >> Stay informed about: How to disable RAID bootup check in A8N SLI Deluxe BIOS? |
