anyone know the fan voltage on a AIW 7500 ? Mine started making a
racket so I took it off, peeled the sticker off the fan and put some
oil in it and put it back in the computer. It's OK for now but I want
to get another fan (and I think I found one that will work OK), but
didn't think to measure the voltage when I had it out. It appears I
can get either a 12 volt fan or a 5 volt fan. Anyone know which the
AIW 7500 uses?

It'll be a 5 Volt Adda Brand 45 mm "Chipcooler". ATI are very helpful about
replacing noisy fans under warranty but a much better idea if you have an
AIW 7500 is to use a Passive Cooler. The later AIW 7500 cards were actually
released with a passive cooler so I cant see why you couldn't fit one to
yours. If the fan is obviously noisey and you get the card RMA'd, they may
even send you one with a passive cooler to replace it. This would be
preferable to you swapping the cooler - the reason being they're glued onto
the GPU and can be tricky to pry off without causing damage (apparently
there's a knack to it).

The fan on mine is just held to the heat sink with 4 screws so it's a
snap to replace IF you could get the exact same fan. I've found some
that are close and should fit and will probably just get one of those.
I'd send it back but then I'd have no video for 2 weeks. Thanks for
the info on the voltage.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
