I was lucky to get hand of a new FX5800 (Aopen aeolus) for about 110 euro
(950 nkr) and it rocking. But i use a zalman heatpipe on it, and had to
"repair it " before using it. The surface of the gpu was really uneven and i
had to sand it down pretty much, and the same for the ram-sinks . These
things was really shocking bad, and the goop (heat-paste) between the
ram-sinks and ram, and fan and gpu was like "pillows". I would for certainly
have experienced overheat problems and maybe failure without theese
"modifications", wich i recommend all to do, at least check these surfaces
and judge the contact, and it`s really worth changing the heat-paste as a
minimum, if the surfaces is smooth and plane. The temp now shows between
54-68*C in the driver (68 immidiate after heavy gaming, and its overclocked
to 495-975 (in 3d). And is soundless
