Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>videocards>nvidia (more info?)

Just wondering,
recently swapped a geforce3 for a new 6800GT.
Compared to the gf3 and to the mx400 in my other computer (connected to the
same monitor) the image of the 6800gt looks a bit blue-ish.
Very noticable when switching from one pc to the other while having a
(white) explorer window open on both computers.
Haven't noticed it in games yet, but that's because most games don't have
large white areas.
The old geforce3 did run at default color settings as is the mx400.

Only installed gainwards normal drivers (think they are just nvidia
reference drivers v6.1.7.6 from Juli 12?).
And I haven't installed any other tools like those gainward expert tools.

Checked all driver settings but everything regarding color and
color-correction is at default.

Is this normal?

Thanks in advance,
Marcel

Just remember to use the right dvi port (looking from the front of PC) as I
find it mutch better then the other one. As for a blue tone in the white, It
sounds fishy. Mine is as crisp and white as it can be.

Hi,

Tried the other port (the right one did indeed fit better) but the result
was the same.
Maybe I am just a bit too fishy Smile
Image quality is excellent and the speed in games is amazing.
I have corrected the desktop colors just a little bit by changing the blue
gamma line one step.
