Post subject: What do I need for a very good 6800GT (or Ultra) overclocking kit?
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>videocards>nvidia, others (more info?)

Briefly, I toyed with the idea of getting my hands on a waterblock-
based 6800 Ultra, simply because such a decision might have made it
slightly less impossible to get my hands on this video card. But
the snippets of forum text I caught revealed a couple of things
about that. First, the only useful waterblock 6800 Ultras (which
came overclocked to 470Mhz) are discontinued, and the only thing
left is a variety that settles upon 425Mhz - the same as a regular
Ultra OC. Second, apparently there are "better" overclocking kits
available out there for the Ultra (and I assume the GT), and this
is supposedly common knowledge.

Well, it's not so common that I know about it. I wouldn't know
where to begin. A friend of mine recently sent me images of his
X800XT-PE, freshly modified by Viper John. The 6800 doesn't have
anything so convenient as an option, that I can tell.

Well, recommendations / links very much appreciated!

This one is louder but better cooled than most GT's.
