Need help about my Phillips cdrom

Hi

I have a Pc pentium 1, I've try to istall a usb plug and card reader, but
it failed, since that, my cdrom don`t play music cd correctly, the sound
are chopped and the led on the cdrom are slowly blinking (it`s light on
wen music goes for few second and light off wen music goes out), but
softwares cd's work perfect, so the problem are only with music cd's.

Btw, I use Window Media to listen my music cd.

Before I've try to install that usb, my cdrom (a Phillips cdr) was working
perfect, including with music cd).

Any solutions, hints ?
