As you become more advanced in this, you'll want to take full
advantage of these Frontier and Noritsu photo printing facilities by
paying attetion to the following:
(1) Always format your photos to the desired size, 4X6, 5X7, etc. If
you need smaller pictures, combine them as desired with Photoshop on a
printable size.
(2) The image should be 300 DPI for Frontier printers, others such as
Noritsu vary from this. If you give them an image having a different
DPI, the machine will resample your image.
(3) These printers generally expect images to be in an sRGB
colorspace. This means that if you simply dump images from Photoshop,
etc. into them, your prints will look decidedly flat. If you
postprocess, always convert your images from Adobe RGB (or whatever)
to sRGB.
(4) Either TIFF or high-quality JPEG images are acceptable; however,
JPEGs will process more quickly, and the difference in quality is
negligable in this case.
(5) For more accurate color and best results I suggest profiling these
facilities by scanning in a test chart form ProfilerPlus. When the
print of this comes back you can create a custom profile that will
provide outstanding results-or at least, the best results you can hope
for with these sRGB printers. Profiles for these printers may also be
