Do hubs amplify signals. In other words could you use a hub and two 75 foot
cables to extend a signal to a computer that was located 150 feet from a
router?

Hubs could go either way, and also have the device hop limit. But if you
use a switch it gets rid of the hop limit and amplifies to the std 100
meter limit (per side).
