I got an internal wireless card for a laptop expansion slot, 802.11b from an
IBM T40. I have a dell precision M40, any clue as to how I can get some
drivers for this or get it to work? Plus on the expansion slot, what the
hell is the little wire with a round tip that goes onto the main\aux part of
the wi-fi card? Any Ideas?

IBM ought to have drivers for the card. Failing that, it's unlikely IBM
actually built the card, so look for any identifying marks for another
manufacturer and check their web site.

I'd expect that to be an antenna...<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
