| Hi. I have an athlon xp tbred 2400+ mounted on a a7n8x-e; actually WCPU
tells me that it is running at 1243 mhz instead of 1900-2000!
What happens? How can I set back the correct settings (in the bios, the fsb
is 166 now, and the multiplier as "auto", and in manual the default is
12.5x; cannot see any 15x option!). Please help me.

I can't remember of a 2400+ that runs at FSB166. I think you should use
FSB266 and set your Multiplier at 7.5 to get the 2000MHz that it should
operate at. With the FSB at 166 and the Multiplier at 7.5 or Auto(it's
locked), you would get the 1243MHz your seeing. HTH.

The max fsb I can see in the options, is 200! Perhaps should I set it at
133? But I miss the 15x multiplier, 'cause it isn't in the options!

If you set FSB to 133 and Multi to Auto what does WCPU show as the
operating freq?

And if you set the Multi to 12.5 do you get the same MHz reading? If
so, I suspect you actually have an XP2000+ and not an XP2400+.

Well, actually in the line below the multiplier's line I have a 12.5, but it
is greyed (perhaps it assumes that, if I pass to manual, the default value
is already 12.5; thus, perhaps the system has internally set 12.5 in "auto"
mode too).
It is a 2400+ for sure; it has always been a 2400, so far, but since two
days I've got these issues.

If it is indeed a 2400+, it still uses a board setting of FSB133 and a
Multi of 15X as you've stated. I looked at my A7N8X-Deluxe and 15x
should be paired with 7.0x in the BIOS. Hopefully that's what you need.

I have the same board and same cpu. You're correct. The FSB should be 133
and the multiplier should list 7.5/15
Try setting the Bus speed to 133 then set the multiplier options to
"optimal". It sounds like the originan poster had his bios reset or
something and it went back to defaults.
