Hello There:

I am enjoying putting a computer together and facing the
challenges, here is my question:

I just got PCCHIPS "M851G V1.5" motherboard w/a 462 socket, an AMD CPU
2200+266 ATHLON XP and two modules of memory of Viking DDRAM 256 mb 32 X 64
(PC2100).
In the website where I got the motherboard it says that the motherboard
supports DDR 333/266 Max 2GB Ram, but in the manual says it supports DDR
400/333 memory.
I haven't been able to make it work, the fan runs but I get nothing in the
screen, since PC2100 would be for a 266 Ram, would I need a different
memory to make it work?

Thank you in advance.

st.

No, PC2100 should work. Did you clear the cmos and make sure that jumper
was in the right place? Did you make sure the on board video jumper was in
the right place (if it has one)? Kind of hard to guess, there's so many
things that could be screwed up.Smile When I run into a problem like this, I
take the MB out of the case and test it on top of the box with the bare
minimum conneted to it.
