Our XP pc has 1gb of ram installed.
Just bought another 1gb.
Before installing it though what's a good way of testing the pc before
and after installation to see the effect of the additional ram?
....some benchmark software I expect...if so any advice on simple, free
program?
Thanks, John

if u system ran full speed with 1gb, adding 1 more will not
make it faster or anything. unless u want to multitask every
single program written since 1977

Unless you run any particularly memory hungry apps or games, I doubt you'll
see much (if any) performance difference. You could run the memory tests in
Everest to see if there is any difference.
