I am interested in attempting to take pictures of next weeks meteor
shower with my digicam. Anyone know if this possible?

I have an Oly 3030z and am not sure howlong a timed shot I can take
although what I am reading says you may need up to a 10 minute exposure
if using 35mm.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike E

It's possible, but long exposures are still an area where film reigns
supreme, unfortumately. This is because a multiple second exposure will
start accumulating noise.

If you want to experiment, keep the camera as cool as possible, taking care
to avoid condensation when you bring the camera indoors again, and try using
the following freeware dark-frame noise removal program:

Unless you have a powerful telescope it's going to look like crap
anyway. All you'll see is little specs blurring across the image area.
DC's are not very good for night photography.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
