I sent my cpu in the bios to 100ghz it runs fine , But the cpu is a athlon
2000+ when I set the multiplier to 166ghz it doesn't boot. the jumpers are
set to default on the board.
the board is a ASUS A7N8X . I'm setting the multiplier to 12.5 should I
go higher. thank you Mike

The normal setting in BIOS for a 2000+ is 133 x 12.5.

If it fails at spec, it could be your memory or PSU, for starters. For
better analysis, provide us with details of your hardware (memory brand and
type, PSU make/model, other hardware, etc.) and a detailed description of
*how* it fails.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

LOL I am sure you mean Mhz not Ghz :¬)

2000+ is a 133 FSB chip. (12.5x133), you will need a LOWER not higher
multiplier if you want to try and run it with an FSB of 166Mhz. Just do the
maths on a calculator, take the rated speed or speed you want to try, divide
it by the FSB and that will (obviously) give you the multiplier. If the
value is not a standard value, you will need to pick one close to it that
is. Then multiply by the FSB to make sure you are not about to try a speed
that is truly ridiculous.

The value for a 2000+ with an FSB of 166Mhz but keeping the 'normal' speed
is 10.
