Why are you asking in a video card newsgroup?

That is some stupid shit. Find me a DFI mainboard group or nForce group.
Find me some answers on nVidia's site or DFI's crap site.
WTF
You didn't have anything to offer but had to make a comment huh
Go on with yourself prick

Thanks. Spent an hour on the line with linksys and they didn't even think of
that.
I appreciate the help.

Uh, what makes you think that it's an nvidia or DFI issue? Are the drivers
not loading? Are you unable to bind TCP/IP to the NIC driver? Did you try
looking for an ETHERNET or TCP/IP newsgroup? Those are the places to look
for help with a router.

Not a router issue. I could see the machine from the router page. PC name,
MAC address IP,etc,etc,etc
Drivers seem to be loaded. Have updated them,,,,then rolled 'em back, then
again,,,,etc,etc
I don't know who's issue it is. Hence I am seeking advice from the groups.
So to explain why I chose to ask this group,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I have been
using THIS newsgroup for SEVEN years now. Many people on this group build
their own boxes. Many are quite intelligent. So I thought to give it a shot,
as maybe somebody has built a box with that mainboard and had a similiar
issue.
THIS is a public site. I don't think I will ever justify as to why I posted
something on it again.
It has been my experience that the people who reply with the "why are you
posting on this site" are wannabees.
They have nothing really to offer to somebody, other than maybe beginners.
DON"T assume a post is for the wrong group.

Why are you getting so defensive? There are _real_ experts, people who have
been active in the development of networking technology for 30 years or
more, who are willing to help you, but you will not find those people
_here_, you will find them on newsgroups dedicated to networking
technologies. If you really need help then those are the places to look.
If you tried describing the behavior that you are observing in more detail
then perhaps you might get better advice. Are you speed and duplex
correct? Is the cable known good? Are you using the correct default
gateway and the correct DNS server addresses? Are you using a unique
address on the correct subnet? Can you see other machines on your network?
Can you ping any other machines on your network? Can you ping the router
(assuming that it responds to pings)? Can you ping any Internet sites?
Can you get into any sites if you specify the IP address rather than the
URL?
Generally speaking if the drivers are loading and TCP/IP is binding and
you're not getting communication, the problem is cabling, an
autonegotiation failure, a broken NIC, or a problem with the TCP/IP
settings. And none of these are specific to any particular brand or model
of NIC.
