It's been nearly three years since I've spent much time on Usenet.
Back then, this newsgroup was lively with dozens of posts and
responses nearly every day. Now, it seems barely alive.

Did ECS go out of business or get bought out by another board maker?
Are ECS boards no longer being shipped to the U.S.?

Just wondering what happened. BTW, I have a K7SEM that's still a
healthy workhorse (knock on wood).

ECS products work much better now so there is no need for a discussion
now! Smile I think it has more to do that there are few popular ECS
products anymore. ECS is so busy making motherboard for everyone else, it
does not have to sell their own products as much. I believe they are the
number 2 manufacturer of motherboards.

Brian, thanks for satisfying my curiosity. Good to hear ECS is doing
well, but I regret that there are so few posts here because I learned
quite a bit from reading them, even though I wasn't having problems.

The one and only thing you should know about ECS is, go and make a
BIOS-Update, you do not need more to be satisfied. Actually i am working on
a K8M800-M2 and it is making less troubles than the DFI LanParty Nforce3
250GB. Since years a K7S5A works propely but in the time i damage 1 MSI and
1 Asus Board.
ECS is much better than their image.
