Post subject: problem with agp and nvidia card
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>video (more info?)

My problem is that my system freezes when I start a hardware
accelerated 3D application. This happens in both Linux and windows xp.

I think my problem has to do with AGP, because when I disable AGP in
Linux and use only PCI, everything works. I haven't been able to test
this in windows.

My graphics card is a msi fx5700le using nvidia GeForceFX. My mainboard
is msi 865GM3 using the Intel 865G chipset.

i've tried upgrading my bios and gfx drivers. The agp related options
is the bios is set to:

agp/pci clock 66/33 MHz
agp power voltage 1.50 V
agp aperture size 64 MB

Is there something wrong with my gfx card or mainboard? Any ideas
would be appreciated.
