I purchased some cd-r printable cd-r's. They are white on top and a
kind of purple on the bottom. I can't record anything on them. It's
not my drive because I tried in 2 computers and then tried a different
cd-r (printable) and that worked, so it's the cd-r's.

What's the problem? Anyone have any ideas? (I have 500 of these!)
Is it the "purple" color? Does that mean anything.

Thanks for any help.

Are you sure that this aren't DVD-Rs?

Purple sounds realy like dvdr.

Have you tested them in a dvd-recorder?

Yes, my laptop is a DVD drive/recorder -- they don't work in there
either. (Actually -- it's kind of a pinkish-purple)

a) Is it a DVD-R AND DVD+R writer?

b) Some DVD-Writers have problems with colored cdrs.
I would recommand to test the media in a REAL cd-writer, not a
dvd-writer.
