Post subject: I want to recover file after resizeing my drive by partition magic 7
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>storage (more info?)

Hi,
I have recently changed the partition of a 20 GB hard Disk. It had
three partitions C,D,E promt. There was no space in drives D & E but
the drive C was half free. So i used Partion Magic 7 and alotted the
some free space from Dive C to Drive D. The entire process took about
2 hrs on a P III machine and during that process it shower "Moving
Files". After the process was over, I found that all my previous data
on Drive D has been changed. None of the files is identified by the OS
(Windows 9Cool. There was abt 260 such files which were with names "l$l"
and their combinations. I want to recover my previous files.....How
should i go about it.....One thing, I havn't created any rescue
disks. can my data be recovered from this unknown format ? If yes, can
u plzzz tell me the process to do so.....Dibalok
