Hi,

I have to place a keyboard far from the PC (more than 30m). My vision
is this:
USB keyboard -> USB/ethernet converter -> ethernet hub -> long cable
-> ethernet hub -> ethernet/USB converter -> PC's keyboard in

Is this a working idea?

oops.... 30m distance with an ethernet cable? Even with a hub this could
cause problems. What do you want to do exactly - why seperate the keyboard
from the pc and not the pc from whatever you want to hook on?

Maybe you have to insert some Ethernet repeaters within the 30m cable. I
would google about "ethernet" and "maximal cable length" to see the physical
restrictions first.

??

RJ45s with UTP is good for 100meters at 10/100Mbps

There must be some wireless kit for this too - you're pretty much borderline
on distance though, any obsdtacles will probably be problematic for usual
kit.

Why arse about, anyway?

30m? No problem! (In theory at least). For the most popular types of
Ethernet wiring, you can get to 100m before worrying about the maximum
distance allowed. See this informative page:

Right, as long as thereīs nothing "mean" around Wink) i.e. high voltage or
something like this.
The problem is that I donīt have any idea, whatīs next or around the cable
because he doenīt mentioned it.
