I'm having a strange problem ...
My office computer recently started not recognising my CD burner sometimes.
Sometimes it works normally, sometimes some programs will access it and
others won't, sometimes nothing will make it show up or work. When it is
in this state, a boot up into the Win emergency start-up Disk ( Win 98 )
does not even recognise the drive.
Other days, things go back to normal.
I'm running zone alarm for a firewall, the MB is a Via, the CPU is a Duron.
I know the problem isn't the drive itself because I switched it up for a
drive from my home machine and the office computer problem remains as it
was.
My guess is that something is wrong with the MB - that it is slowly
committing suicide.
Educated guesses welcomed...........
cheers
