Hi,

I have noticed a few simlair posts to my question but not quite what
I'm looking for, hope you can shed some light?

Basically, as the subject mentions, I currently have a P3 866Mhz PC. I
have aquired a motherboard with x2 P3 550Mhz CPU's.

Is it worth me swapping all my bits into the dual PC box or should I
just stick with what I have.
Would I notice an increase in performance with the dual PC.

I am using Windows XP home edition.

Hope you can help.

Regards
Paul Roberts.

Windows Home Edition CANNOT use a two processor motherboard.

I don't think Home will even use more than one CPU.

Even if you were using Pro, I doubt that posting to newsgroups would benefit
at all from multiple processors.

Sure it can... It just won't use the second core/processor.

Thanks. I thought I would need to use XP pro, that's no problem.
I use the PC for variuos things such as Vmware, MS SQL and games.

On average, the single P3 866 will be faster than the dual 550,
significantly so.
