I built the machine a week or so before her birthday - July 3.
The little computer is quite nice and she's very happy with it. I'd
buy the coupon from her myself if there was anything useful on their
website, but it's junk - stickers to make the machine look pretty and
so forth (I may anyway). Too bad they don't offer to let people buy
new machines or motherboards, or . . .
I think the public relations people who thought this up should be
fired. Looks like false advertising to me. What they need is a big
lawsuit to wake them up.
I bought the machine at Fry's. They also advertised this swindle.
Frys has contacted Shuttle on the situation. Lets see how they handle
this.
I find this really unusual. It's a case where the marketeers are
(much) worse than the hardware.
