No slaves: on IDE1 cannot have 2 HD but could have HD master and CD slave.
on IDE2 cannot have 2 CD drives, one only. all drives set on CS, will try
other combos when i have more time.
No LAN: given up after 2 days trying to install the onboard LAN. MB support
CD is useless (version 2.4 VI) and didn't install LAN, audio and USB - had
to download from couple of sites including the ECS site. i'm using a NIC
card.
No AGP 1,2: board only support AGP 4. i'm using an old PCI video card -
still pretty fast with the XP 2400+ pushing it.
No beeps: there is no signal from any combination of the 4 pins to drive the
internal speaker. speaker is ok.
anyone got the onboard LAN working or a fix for the missing post beeps?
otherwise the combo is fast and stable. |

K7VTA3 vs K7S5A Pro ? - Fry's has started using the K7VTA3 board in their combo special with the 1800 Athlon for $64.95. How does the K7VTA3 compare to the K7S5A Pro, in such things as reliability, speed, compatibility?
K7VTA3- No Sound!! - well , i got the hard drive ide problems fixed( embarrasing- had a jumper onn the fsb only on one pin!) however i still , no matter what i do , can't get any sound --no beep on boot , no cd-rom music songs etc , no win dows systems sounds at all. have.. |
