Which slot to put 512m ram in A7N8X?

Using A7N8X, "new revision", and have 1 stick of 'supposedly' 512 meg
Kingston HyperX. Have it in slot 1, and it shows as only 256 meg. Do I in
fact have only 256 meg, or am I missing the slot OR settings in cmos or????
I Hate to accuse seller of sending me fraudently-remarked package--I
examined the pkg. carefully, 'cause 1st time he sent me PC3200 where I'd
paid for PC3500, and it showed NO signs of having been opened.
How do I check the type, speed, and quantity of the ram. Wcpuid showed
256. Belarc did too, but Belarc prints what mobo bios sends, as I
understand. CPUZ shows "Smart Modular DDR-SDRAM PC2700-256 MB". Mobo is
running Bios 1007.

Can ya see the part number of the chips on the sdram stick? This info
will be the telling factor, take the RAM IC capacity X num of chips on
the stick.
