I had a 3COM MHZ 3cXFE575BT which had a bent phone
pin. So I 'installed' a smc8040tx. I used the latest drivers from
SMC's website. SMC's diag software passes. Win98
recognizes it as installed properly. ipconfig shows we have a
valid IP from the router -- and refreshing IPs even works.
BUT - and time a program tries to access the Internet, I get an
Invalid Page fault! I then went back to the 3COM card -- now
I get Invalid PAge Faults for that too!

Any ideas?

Email which I check is 123danielNzrSP DeleteThis @netzero.net

REMOVE the numbers and upper case letters from the email
address.
I've been getting tons of Virus emails, so I don't plan on posting
from my regular account anymore.

The problem was Aventail - I had to uninstall and reinstall it, as per
MS' Knowledgebase article.
