Yes, by installing her software that came with the camera, she tried with
her laptop. But the driver for the software told her that that camera could
not be installed on XP except by using a serial port.
But she is looking for a memory card now for that camera that she CAN use on
her laptop without need for the serial port, there IS a slot for this memory
card. Whether IT will work with XP remains to be seen but it must be one of
those cameras that is just not flexible. I noticed on the Polaroid site
that this camera is no longer manufactured, I can see why.
She does have a Win98 desktop machine that she can download her onboard
pictures to. But for future pictures, hopefully the CompactFlash(tm) card
will work better for her on the laptop. I also have a card reader she can
try if the laptop card slot proves useless.
