Hi there,
I bought a Kodak EasyShare C330 camera and a standard Toshiba 256MB SD
card. According to the manufacturer's specifications, the card has a
read speed of 7MB/s (x40), and a write speed of 2MB (x13). I am now
scratching my head -- should I have bought a higher-speed SD card, say
the recently released "pro" cards which have a speed of 7MB (x40-45)
both for read and write ?
The camera works in all regimes (taking the still pictures, recovery,
viewing etc) with the Toshiba SD card within the time limits, specified
by Kodak. Which is to say, the writing/reading to the card is
determined by the sower camera and not by the card. But I have a
problem with recording the video. When I play back the videorecording
from my computer, the audio gets interrupted for a fraction of second
every 3 seconds, and the video seems to be OK. Kodak camera writes
video in the format QVGA (320 × 240pixels) at 20fps. This gives about
1.5MB/s data stream. It can be too much for the SD card, but I presume
the camera compresses the video stream which is written to the card. So
that the write speed of my Toshiba SD card should be al'right for the
correct performance of my Kodak camera. What could then the reason be
for interruption of audio in video writing ? Thanks.
(Perhaps, I should try to write videorecording to the internal 16MB
memory and see if there is any disruption of videorecording as compared
to the external 256MB card... I will try it tonight).
Regards,
