I recently replaced my TNT2 M64 Video card that came with my Dell
Dimension 4100 with an ATI 9600 Pro. I followed the installation steps
and uninstalled the nVidia drivers, turned off the computer, installed
the ATI card, rebooted and then installed the ATI drivers. After
uninstalling the nVidia drivers I have been seeing the following at
startup that I don't remember seeing before:
Windows Expanded Memory Driver 4.95
Copyright 1988-1995 Microsoft Corporation
EMM386 not installed -- unable to set page frame base address
Total upper memory available ... 66KB
Largest upper memory block ... 59KB
Upper memory starting address... CD00 H
EMM386 Active
Is that normal? What does it mean? Do I care?
I am running Windows 98SE on a Dell Dimension 4100 (P3, 933 MHz).
Thanks,
Larry Cook
