I have good hardware background (low-level) but know very little about
multi-media or the qualitative side of PC audio and video. To give you an
idea of my past interest in such things: I just bought a television after
not having one in the house since 1979, my video card has 2 MB of RAM, and
the monitor I use (14'') is 9 years old. But all that is changing. I just
bought a LaCie 22'' CRT (refurbished), a VCR/DVD player, and am looking for
a deal on an ATI AIW 9600 Pro.

I notice that the AIW 9600 has no joystick port on it. How do you hook up a
joystick these days? Are they USB?

Can someone point me to a website where I can read about the present state
of gaming hardware, also I would like to know about internet gaming.

TIA Bill S.
