Hi all

just finished upgrading my wifes PC.

she used to have a P3 550 with 256mb PC100 RAM.

Just changed it to a Athlon XP 2000+ ( had it spare from my last
upgrade ), and ive slotted it into a Sparkle nForce 2 400 ( not ultra)
motherboard, along with 256Mb PC3200 GieL RAM.

Altogether the total upgrade cost a little under £65.00, not bad
really, got a good deal on the mobo ( £30.00 ) and paid £34 for the
memeory. PC3200 is a bit of an overkill but it was cheap enough so why
not!

Everything else came form her old system, HDDs, floppy, DVD drive,
Sounblaster Live ( onboard soud was crap i thought ).

Finished off with my old Geforce 3 Ti200 and its made a nice system.
she dosent play games really but i ran 3dmark 2001 and she got 5221.
Not bad for her cpu / gfx card combo i thought.

BTW my system is a Asus A7n8x-e deluxe mobo, 768mb PC3200, and a XP
3200+ cpu, with a radeon 9800 pro.

Mite invest in a AMD 64 in the near future, but am going to wait for
PCI express.

cheers all.

Paul.
