video card problem

The mainboard is a 6vba133. I bought a Prophet 4000xt agp. The problems is
when the new card is installed the pc refuses to boot into the Windows
splash screen. It boots up okay until then. The card is seen and seems to be
installed correctly. The bios is version 2baa. Do I need to update it or is
there a bios setting that needs to be changed.

Update the bios and do a fresh installl, If you still have problems update the mobo.
