OK, very weird thing happened. I changed the IDE cable on my Lite-On
DVD-R, and now I can't get any DVDs, audio CDs or CD-ROMs to
autostart. At first, I couldn't get the Power DVD software to play
the disks at all - I got a "copy protection" error on DVDs, although
Windows Media Player played the disks no problem. I went back to the
old cable (I suspected a problem and was changing it as a precaution)
and now, PowerDVD will play the disks. But... I'm not getting
prompted automatically no matter what type of disk I use - not even a
CD-ROM. I have to either go to "My Computer" and run the file, or go
to PowerDVD and manually play the DVD or audio CD.
Can anyone help me? I'm at my wits' end - Power DVD is definitely set
to play auomatically on insertion, so that's not the problem. How and
why did changing the cable produce this odd result?
Thanks - Dan
