Post subject: wired and wireless network

i have one pc running xp pro connected to a D-Link router (DI 714P+)
via an ethernet connection, and one xp pro laptop that uses a Netgear
802.11b wireless pc card to connect to the router. The router is
connected to a belkin adsl modem via a crossover cable. Both computers
are able to connect to the internet, but i cant share files between
them. NEED HELP!

Are they in the same subnet and is the Workgroup name set to the same
value for both computers? Is file sharing enabled?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Look in your Control Panel settings. The IP/subnet info is in Network
Connections - Local Area Connection - Support tab.

For workgroup name, look in Control Panel - System settings - Computer
Name.

You'll also find firewall settings in the Control Panel area.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
